In this web 2.0 time everyone has started using social media. Social media helps us to share stories, articles, blogs, Images and videos with millions of online users. If you are an active social media user then you can get millions of visitors to your website or blog(Content should be good & informative).
You should be active on social media websites like Digg, SU, Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, Mixx etc. These are the famous social media websites which can help us in Traffic generation as well as in branding.
These websites need lots of time which is not easy for everyone to spend on them. Some of the companies started selling social media as a service where they will work for you to derive traffic & for company branding.
But as we all know social media helps in traffic generation, but how we can monitor it? In one of my previous post I mentioned how “Goggle analytics goal funnel helps to track goal conversions”.
There are some companies which can work for you to monitor social media. You can buy their service & they will send you report about Traffic generation, subscriber, branding etc.
Here are some simple steps which any company or user should remember to monitor social media activities.
These are the general tips which you might know already.
When you open Google Analytics account then you will see this window on your dashboard which helps you to find traffic source.

Because social media websites traffic comes from referral websites, Google Analytics will start showing you each referral websites traffic details.

If you want to see any specific website details then you can click on any referral website.
When I click on Digg then it will start showing me results like this:

For more brief you can track it according to source, landing page, country etc.

These are the simple steps to track traffic source. To monitor these social media websites in more details you should have some knowledge about goal conversions, to track which referral website is giving you more conversions. With this you can concentrate more on that website for future.

Above you can see some examples of goal conversions from specific websites. You can divide your goals according to your criteria & if someone completes a goal, that process will be counted as your lead.
