Twitter is a place to share 140 character long status updates with the whole world. A new Internet and American Lifestyle study say’s that almost 1 in every 5 American internet user tweets. Which means almost 20% internet users are tweeting?
The above demographic details shows that every day twitter attracting more and more young adults and teens to use their site for their own social networking purpose. All users are using Twitter for their own purpose. This was up 8 percent from the 11 percent who used such services in April 2009.

The survey has been conducted with 2,253 users, age 18 & above. Also the trend of staying in touch via status updates has led to increased usage. Twitter & other status services are very popular in between age group of 18-34. The above demographic details shows that other age group were slower to adopt Twitter use, with the age of 35-49 and 50-60 age totaling 17 percent. Yet these groups increased by 5, 6 and 2 percent respectively, since December.
People believe online communication these day’s & twitter helping them & giving them a way to communicate with each other with in 14characters limit. The Rss feed is also one of the most attractive feature to get the updates directly in to mail.
Twitter is not just going to stay here because they are trying to come up with a new list feature as well. This feature has been testing with small no of users. You can just link these users to your profile & other users can subscribe for this list.
So twitter is going to take over the internet world very soon where all age group members will tweets according to their interest.
