Social media mobileWhen we look back to achievements of social media marketing in 2009, we observe that there was almost nothing significant or outstandingly different as compared to the previous years. However social media has been offered a ground and more and more people have started knowing and understanding it. Especially the industry segment of the society has benefited with it a lot. Therefore we should not say that there was nothing fabulous as far as achievement is concerned because it had been a learning experience throughout and that is more than enough in itself. Summing up, the entire outcome after the end of the year 2009 is that some got the benefit out of it and some didn’t. Those who could not achieve are trying to catch hold of it.

Recently David Armano, Senior Partner of Dachis Group, a consultancy that delivers social business design services, has published a post, ‘Six Social Media Trends for 2010’ which is the result of some observations that are to a certain extent perceptive. One of the trends that came out as the most talked about topic was that of mobile becoming a social media marketing lifeline. According to Armano, people are expected to take more of mobile breaks as compared to cigarette breaks. It is obvious that sale of smart phones have been on rise dramatically in recent past and there is no question of its coming down. So, it is obvious that mobile networking is expected to become the new trend at present.

Statistics show that almost one third of the mobile subscribers worldwide come from Asia and it is expected to grow further more. Whether it is infrastructure, mobile Internet, mobile phone subscriptions, gaming alerts or simply SMS, all are growing at an alarming rate especially in Asia. Marketing on mobile phone has already started and with value added application it is simply going to grow further. Big brands are merging and coming together with more incorporated mobile marketing campaigns. In addition to all this, personal and privacy policies could be discussed freely as mobile viewing is extremely personal in comparison to that on social media networking sites.

Electronic payment through mobile is increasing and Asia is expected to be the key adopter as far as mobile payments are concerned. Mobile healthcare, mobile music and mobile gaming cannot be left apart from all this. Seeing all this David Armano has predicted mobile networking as social media life line which seems to be acceptable by all.
