Apple introduced iPad claiming that it would replace the Netbooks and those who like to call themselves updated with latest technology think that Netbooks are just cheaper and can do no better. Even the Apple CEO, Steve Jobs said, “Netbooks aren’t better than anything.” Apple iPad came into the market with a promise that it will give better solution than a Netbook. However some functions like the quality of video playback are appreciable and unmatched. Apart from this there are many things that an iPad cannot do and a Netbook can perform easily. We will discuss these shortcomings here.

Today most of the Netbooks enable their users to use webcam and enjoy video chat using various programs available on Internet. This facility an iPad cannot give you. It is being claimed by the Apple CEO that iPad has been the best web experience till date whereas it is missing out a big piece right now and that is the whole Web. Apart from this the latest of Netbooks provide all day battery backup and the screens are extremely spacious than iPads. The display can be better in iPads.

The main reason behind all this is that when Netbooks were introduced, many people bought it assuming it to be just smaller and cheaper laptops that they would simply use to check emails, a website or post a tweet, that’s it. This might be the reason why people found problems with early Netbooks and could not run applications that they would easily run on their larger laptops. However these applications cannot be run on iPads even. In addition little more memory is expected in the iPads, which they get short of and the most basic Netbbook has the hard drive with capacity of 160GB and they can even upgrade their RAM easily.

One of the major differences between iPads and Netbooks is the price. If you want to use your Netbook as a small laptop, you have the keyboard to input data, which an iPad is not designed to carry out. If your work includes use of the keyboard most often, you will never be tempted by an iPad. There are no USB ports on the iPad and so this indicates that cameras cannot be connected to it and this is something really disappointing for the bloggers. At the same time Netbooks have at least two standard USB ports. Although iPads allow photo and video uploads, a direct connection is usually preferred by the users when they are on the move.
